Kolby has the very best heart. Ask any volunteer and they will tell you that Kolby is the most lovable cat at POA. He likes to sit on laps, snugglng. He will let you carry him around, purring like crazy while you do so. Kolby is tolerant of other cats, generally walking away if another cat wants to cause trouble. And this big lug likes to play- stepping lightly, almost dancing, surprisingly light on his feet for such a big guy. So why is such a great cat not adopted after six months?
Because in some ways Kolby does not have the best heart. Kolby has a heart murmur and cardiomyopathy. This is a chronic condition for which he takes daily medication (he takes it like a champ when you put it in a pill pocket). Your vet may also suggest periodic testing. Kolby leads a normal life otherwise, playing and napping and cuddling. Kolby may live a normal life span or he may not. But we want him to live however long in a home, watching the birds from a sunny window and cuddling with his very own people.
Kolby already has a piece of all of our hearts. Do you have room in your heart for him?
Kolby is FIV positive, but that does not mean he cannot live long and happy life. Please click here for information on FIV.
