Let's talk about luck.  Black cats are supposed to be unlucky.   And you could look at Billy Paul and think: "this is one unlucky cat".   Abandoned outside at five years old,  clearly neglected, with wonky ears (one tipped as he was initially thought to be feral, and one crumpled most likely from an old injury or previous infection), Billy Paul doesn't look like he has been blessed with an abundance of good luck.

But here is the thing, Billy Paul would disagree with you.  This guy is a big, mellow, mush of a cat.  He likes people and expects to be liked in return.  He was clearly very much loved and well socialized at one point in his life.  And after struggling outside, Billy Paul was saved!   A woman who traps feral cats in the Greater Hartford area found him and realized what a nice cat he was.  She was able to get Billy Paul to Protectors of Animals, where he has been sleeping, eating and soaking up love.  Billy Paul is sure that he is one of the luckiest cats around.
And that is the thing about good or bad luck.  Sometimes, it is all about how you look at things.  So if you think you might be lucky enough to adopt Billy Paul, please come in to Protectors of Animals and say hello to this big, beautiful, and very lucky black cat.
