Adopters with an approved application can schedule an appointment to meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat, but you must have an approved application on file.

COVID-era lockdowns were rough for many but dealt an especially hard blow to the younger generations who missed important socialization windows. 18 month Cleo can commiserate. She’s spent most of her short life in the company of many other cats but with little regular human interaction, which has produced a bit of a double-whammy for pretty Cleo. Not only did she miss the window to easily learn to trust human friends, she has been over-saturated with feline presence and is, quite frankly, sick of other cats.

At the shelter, Cleo is slowly learning that people are on her side and worth getting to know. Little by little, Cleo has allowed kind and gentle hands to touch her. And in the moments she’s not ready to face her fears, Cleo is happy to bond through play - chasing toys and pouncing the dancing laser light. As for her feelings on other cats, Cleo has yet to fully come around. She shares space with cats who respect her boundaries but doesn’t want any cats to get too close. She would therefore be best as a one and only, not only to spare her feelings on rival felines but to help expedite the bonding process with her person.

Cleo is longing for a quiet home, with the right adopter. She’s even taken to sleeping in an empty carrier to let us now that she’s packed up and ready to go. We get the hint. So if you are an adopter who is willing to play the long game and invest the time needed to help Cleo build trust, please come and meet this young lady, who is very deserving of a social reboot.
