As this volunteer struggles to come up with a creative way to advertise the need for a hospice home for Ernie, the only way to really say it is to just lay it out there in the hopes that someone will have the ability to have a strong, big, loving heart that simply cannot say no.
There is no easy way to say that this sweet, playful boy who loves people and other cats has been dealt a crappy hand. Ernie deserves the best life, no matter the length and we would love that to be in a home of his very own.
Ernie has been diagnosed with severe HCM. Per the internet Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is the most commonly diagnosed cardiac disease in cats. Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a condition that causes the muscular walls of a cat's heart to thicken, decreasing the heart's efficiency and sometimes creating symptoms in other parts of the body. Ernie currently has no symptoms..but the prognosis is not great. 🙁
Ernie, 3 ½ years old, could live years…but might very well just have weeks. We just don’t know.
Ernie was a participant in the Jackson Galaxy Project and he did so well! He is a shelter favorite and is easy to medicate…easy to love.
If you are interested in giving Ernie a place to play, a place to be loved and cared for …a home of his very own..even if it is just for a short time, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Ernie , and we, say Thanks!
