“Patience does not mean to passively endure. It means to be farsighted enough to trust the end result of a process. What does patience mean? It means to look at the thorn and see the rose, to look at the night and see the dawn.”

                               ~ Elif Shafak
You would never guess that this beautiful one year old cat was found abandoned outside about three months ago with her eight kittens!  When she arrived at the shelter to be examined, she should have been afraid.  She could have been aggressive.  Instead, she seemed to understand that we were trying to help.  And that continued after she and her babies were whisked off to a foster home.  Her foster family said that they had never seen a sweeter, more nurturing, patient cat in all their years of fostering, so they named her Patience. And they rave about her.
Now spayed and with her kittens weaned, Patience is at the shelter so that she can look for a family of her own.  And our volunteers rave about her too.   She’s calm and gentle, a little shy, but without a mean bone in her body.  She is a quiet little lady who likes people despite all of the less than kind things that have probably happened to her.  We love her and we believe that you will too.
Patience deserves to have the love and caring she gives out returned to her tenfold.   If you think that you can do that or at least want to try,  please fill out the application at www.poainc.org.  As always, if you already have an approved application, you simply need to email poaplacement@gmail.com.

Adoptions are now done by appointment only. Email poaplacement@gmail.com for more info and an appointment.
