Slater

Three-year-old Slater, all dressed up in his Valentine’s Day bowtie, hopes that he can make you smile with your heart. We bet he will. After all, Slater is a little goofy… a little shy… and a lot sweet. Picture Linus from Peanuts, and you will understand Slater perfectly.

When he arrived at Protectors of Animals a few weeks ago Slater had another thing in common with Linus- a security blanket. You see, Slater found the shelter a bit overwhelming. So he would burrow under his bedding or wrap himself up in his bed like a burrito, certain that if he couldn’t see us, we couldn’t see him.

Time, along with copious applications of cuddles and treats, have worked their magic and Slater no longer needs a blankie. Instead, he presents himself front and center looking for play and pets. These are definitely the way to win this good boy’s heart. Slater is hoping for a chance to win your heart too.
