DESCRIPTION:We are doing adoptions by appointment only. Kitten adoptions are on Saturdays and adult adoptions during the week. Available cats are posted on Facebook and/or the website. The first step is to fill out an application on our website by clicking on Adopt! \nThe placement team will review the application and contact you about the new adoption process. There are no walk-ins. Adopters of adult cats are able to meet one specific cat during each appointment. We not able to allow adopters to enter the adoption center. All adoptions are held in an empty unit in our building.

DESCRIPTION:Michael E. Walsh was a standout runner at St Paul’s High School and Fordham University who was tragically killed after being hit by a snow plow while running in his hometown of Torrington\, CT. This race is being held in his memory. This event will be held at Riverfront Park in Hartford. Registration opens at 8:30\, the kid’s fun run will start at 9:30 and the 5K at 10:00. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 100 registered runners/walkers. Size guaranteed if registered before Oct 8.  Awards will be presented to the overall winners and the top three in the following age groups: 12 and under\, 13-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70-79\, 80+ \nHead over to the Michael E Walsh website for sign up info!! POA is honored to be the benefactor of the proceeds from this wonder event held in memory of Michael E Walsh.

Gluten-free\, vegetarian\, and vegan options available. \nYour $50 fee includes a catered buffet brunch\, one drink ticket\, one door prize drawing ticket\, a specialty shot glass souvenir\, and live music. If you register by Sunday\, Oct. 14\, you can save $5! \nFor those who want to continue imbibing past their included drink ticket\, a cash bar will be available.
