SUMMARY:4th Annual Michael E. Walsh Memorial 5K Race
DESCRIPTION:Michael E. Walsh was a standout runner at St Paul’s High School and Fordham University who was tragically killed after being hit by a snow plow while running in his hometown of Torrington\, CT. This race is being held in his memory. This event will be held at Riverfront Park in Hartford. Registration opens at 8:30\, the kid’s fun run will start at 9:30 and the 5K at 10:00. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 100 registered runners/walkers. Size guaranteed if registered before Oct 8.  Awards will be presented to the overall winners and the top three in the following age groups: 12 and under\, 13-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70-79\, 80+ \nHead over to the Michael E Walsh website for sign up info!! POA is honored to be the benefactor of the proceeds from this wonder event held in memory of Michael E Walsh.

DESCRIPTION:Hebron Vet has welcomed us back for the 2nd Annual Barktober 2.3 mile Dog Jog Road and Trail Fun Run\, this Saturday\, 10/26/19. \nThe run ends at the start of the Harvest Moon Festival in Hebron (a family and dog friendly event to include live music\, food trucks\, trick or treating\, and more!). There will be raffle baskets and some great prizes for the winner of the run\, with and without a pup\, as well as for the best costume.   \nProtectors of Animals will have a table set up and we will also be handing out water for the runners as well. Hebron Vet is also graciously donating all of the proceeds from registration to POA! \n\nRunner sign up is at Runsignup.com under  Barktober Dog Jog in Hebron 2019.  Runners can sign up in person at Hebron Veterinary Hospital or send in a check to them at 43 West Main Street\, Hebron CT 06248. Registration is $20.\n\nRegistration starts at 2:00 P.M. and the starting line is near the Hebron Church of Hope on 1 Main Street Hebron (where POA will set up our table). The race begins at 3:00 P.M.

DESCRIPTION:We are doing adoptions by appointment only. Kitten adoptions are on Saturdays and adult adoptions during the week. Available cats are posted on Facebook and/or the website. The first step is to fill out an application on our website by clicking on Adopt! \nThe placement team will review the application and contact you about the new adoption process. There are no walk-ins. Adopters of adult cats are able to meet one specific cat during each appointment. We not able to allow adopters to enter the adoption center. All adoptions are held in an empty unit in our building.
