We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters unless the adopter has met the cat/kittens and has an approved application. Frito and Ishy are a bonded pair.
Halloween approaches and it's as if four-month-old Frito and Ishmael (who goes by Ishy when things aren't formal) are already dressed for the occasion. They are a handsome pair of young gentlemen who don luxuriously soft coats of orange and black, respectively; a perfect pairing given the time of year they are seeking their forever home.
Frito, as is the case of many an orange male cat, is friendly, forward and funny. Of the two, he is the alpha and the one who goes bravely forward to show the ropes to his more timid sidekick, Ishy. Both boys love to play, but whereas Frito jumps in with gusto, Ishy tests the water and wades in only after he decides things are safe. But play is also the way to Ishy's heart. It helps him relax and feel comfortable in his surroundings and after bonding with people over a wavy wand toy, he musters his courage and accepts petting.
Found as strays, both Frito and Ishy are learning that people are good to have around. They bring food. They offer toys. And they are a source of comfort. Ishy will need longer than Frito to internalize these lessons and trust that people are safe and that he is safe, but he is already making strides.
Adopters hoping for a pair of male cats who go together as well as Bert and Ernie, Frog and Toad, mac and cheese, or orange and black will be thrilled that Frito and Ishy are inseparable buddies hoping for a lifetime of adventures together.
