Seven year old Torie is a lovely and reserved lady who only lets her hair… errr fur… down when she’s among those that she loves and trusts. And that makes sense when you know her history. Found abandoned as a kitten, Torie was quickly adopted and spent years with her person. Unfortunately, that person fell on hard times and lost their home, and Torie came back to Protectors of Animals.
Torie isn’t fond of the noise and chaos of the Shelter. She is never aggressive. Instead she retreats. She hangs back and waits to see if things or people are safe. She tends to be afraid of other cats and Torie is decidedly not a fan of new people, loud noises, or change.
But that is only one side of Torie. There’s another side; a goofy, playful, affectionate side. When Torie feels safe she loves belly pets and having her forehead stroked. Her love languages are touch and quality time with her people. She especially enjoys when her people lay down on the floor and she can flop down next to them, purring and snuggling.
Torie is also known for acting the fool sometimes. She loves catnip and boxes. She loves her little strawberry toys that she will carry around with her from room to room. But more than anything else she like likes the ball track toy which she can play with for hours by herself. She was even known to shove it around the room in gleeful excitement.
Torie would be happiest in a quiet home with no other pets and someone who will give her time to feel safe. She is a wonderful companion who is easy to love. She may never be the life of the party. (Perhaps you can relate.) But if you are looking for a devoted best friend, there is no need to look any further.
