Tux – FeLV+

Tux is a stunning long-haired tuxedo boy with the softest fur and the sweetest soul. He may be shy at first, but with a little patience, he blossoms into a gentle and affectionate love bug.

Tux loves cuddles and will happily keep you company, whether that’s curling up at the end of your bed or relaxing nearby while you go about your day. He’s often right by your side, and his little tongue usually sticking out just adds to his charm.

Tux is still learning how to play, but he already loves laser toys and will light up chasing that little red dot. He also loves Churu treats and will sing to you while you prepare his meals. When he’s not snacking or playing, you can find him lounging by the window watching the world go by.

He loves being around his people, especially during quiet moments like watching TV or reading, and makes a really sweet, easygoing companion.

Tux is FeLV positive, so he will need to remain an indoor-only cat. He would likely do best as an only cat, but could also be happy with a calm, FeLV-positive feline friend.

Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus belonging to the coronavirus subfamily, which means it is a cancer-causing virus. FeLV can cause severe anemia and suppress the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to a variety of opportunistic diseases. FeLV is not transmissible to humans.

FeLV cats generally have a shortened lifespan.  Cats with FeLV require routine vet care, a good diet, low stress, and lots of love.  Please keep them indoors to protect them from picking up any infection from outdoors.  Cats with FeLV are usually pretty healthy, until they aren’t.  If you are interested in providing a loving home to one of our FeLV+ cats, please submit an application.  We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
