Henry

Name: Henry

Age: 4 years 9 months

Breed: DSH Grey & White

Sex: Male

Darkness falls early at this time of year. Chilly wind blows the leaves around. Inside, you have a cup of tea and a cozy fire. All you need is one more thing: a big, soft mush of a cat to curl up in your lap, purring.
In other words, you need Henry.
Henry is 4-1/2 years old—old enough to mellow out in the evening, but young enough to chase balls or bat at wands. He came to POA as a stray on the street, but Henry doesn’t believe anybody is a stranger. Whether you’re meeting him for the first time or you’ve had the privilege of his assistance in “rearranging” papers or items in the front office (because as Henry knows, everything looks better on the floor), you’re his pal. Pick him up, carry him around, comb him, play with him, snuggle with him—Henry’s all for it. If you’ve brought treats, your biggest problem will be getting this gorgeous boy stop gazing at you with that “one more, please?” look that’s nearly impossible to resist.
In fact, we’ve only found two things Henry doesn’t particularly like. One is other cats—this sweet guy wants to be your one and only. The other is stomatitis, an inflammation of the gums which causes him some discomfort (though not enough to keep him from eating treats). Since he’s expected to be on medication for his condition for several months yet, Henry’s currently available as a foster-to-adopt cat. This means that after you take him home, he’ll remain POA’s cat legally while he’s finishing up his medical treatment (which POA will continue to pay for, just as we do while he’s with us). Your job will be twofold: (a) to work closely with POA’s medical team, giving him his meds (which he takes easily) and bringing him into the shelter for his medical appointments until he’s done with treatment, and (b) to provide this beautiful boy with a loving home.
If you’re looking for a big handsome kitty to cherish, come in and meet Henry. To find out more about our foster to adopt program, please contact poaplacement@gmail.com.
