Leo

Name: Leo

Age:  9 years

Breed: Poodle/Maltese

Sex: Male

Leo went from being well loved in a home to the POA shelter without skipping a beat. He’s that well-adjusted and friendly by nature. This little male Poodle/Maltese mix is 9 years old. He lived with another dog and they received plenty of attention from their elderly owners. Sadly, one of the owners passed away and the other one could not take the dogs when he moved. So POA stepped in at the request of a caring ACO (Animal Control Officer).

Leo only weighs about 13 pounds (and he could lose a few pounds!) He has plenty of energy and he’s a favorite with the POA volunteers. His tail goes a mile a minute when you approach and he’s happy to do whatever you want to do. He’ll  go out for a walk, take a car ride, stay in and play with toys and stuffed animals, or just be cuddled.

An ideal home would be someone who is home most of the time because he’s one of those dogs who bonds and wants to be with you. (He will bark when you leave!)  Leo needs and likes regular daily walks. He also gets along with other dogs, except he likes to eat alone. Leo is fine with children who are gentle with him and he is friendly with other animals..

Of course, like all poodles, Leo needs to be groomed regularly. But aside from his teeth that will need work (he has an appointment in April) Leo is healthy and an ideal little dog. If you can provide Leo with a good home and love please contact Elizabeth.a@poainc.org. (CT Residents Only)
