Mariska

The name Mariska really fits her, and she responds to it when I call, so she’s chosen it too. Mariska LOVES being a house cat. She settled in almost immediately, conquering my bedroom within hours and the whole house within days. She now spends her days snoozing, rotating between three of four of her favorite beds and warm sunny places. She loves my roommate and I, and will follow us around and sleeps in the bed closest to us while we’re working. She loves play time, and especially loves the kitty fishing pole with the feather attachment and the Kong kicker with catnip, but will pounce on any toy and I’m constantly finding her “kills” left on my bedroom floor where she’s sure I’ll see them.
Altogether, I couldn’t be happier with Mariska in my life. I never expected how quickly she’d become family, and how beloved she’d become to my friends and family who moon over my Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat posts about her. I’m pretty sure she loves me too: she greets me at the door every day, cuddles with me on the couch every evening, and sleeps at the foot of my bed every night. She lets me know when I’ve been gone too much by begging for attention, which I’m happy to provide. I treasure every day with her, and I’m so glad I found her.
