“It is a happy talent to know how to play.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
If playing is a talent, then Toby is an extremely talented cat. If you hear volunteers laughing, odds are good that it’s because this gorgeous tuxedo boy is playing with his wand toy, leaping high into the air to snag his prize, jubilant with the sheer delight of having so much fun.
Toby loves to play, but even more than playing, Toby loves attention. If you’re working with a cat in a neighboring condo, there’s every chance that a little white foot will poke out from between the bars of Toby’s condo as if to say, “Hey, look over here! It’s me! I’m here, too! Pay attention to ME!” Some cats are standoffish or reluctant to engage, but Toby is most definitely *not* one of them. Everybody is Toby’s pal, regardless of whether you’ve met before this minute. If Toby were in high school, he’d be the one everybody would want to hang out with, the guy who’s pure sunshine and makes everybody else happier just because he’s there.
Toby’s perfect family would include people who are home a lot and who want to play with him and fuss over him, and then play some more. Toby is still young—about eight months old—and he still has all that fabulously goofy kitten energy. If his family already has an active cat (or two), we suspect Toby would enjoy having playmates to keep him busy. (However, older cats or cats that have firm boundaries about personal space may not enjoy Toby’s rambunctious ways.) Then, once Toby has worked off some of his energy, this little darling wants nothing more than to cuddle up with his people. (Playful and cuddly—how can you resist?)
One thing Toby’s prospective family needs to know is that he’s on a special diet to address a gastrointestinal issue. The good news is that ever since he started eating this special food, his symptoms seem to have gone away, but it’s important that his adopter will commit to keeping him on this diet.
If your home could use a furry little ray of sunshine, Toby may be just the cat for you. If you’d like to meet Toby or any of the other available cats and kittens, please start by filling out the application on our website.  Our placement team will be in touch by email to answer your questions, tell you about adoption process, and make an appointment for you. If you are not in a position to adopt at this time, or if Toby isn’t the right match for you, you can still help by letting people know about this wonderful boy so that he can find his perfect forever home.

Adoptions are now done by appointment only. Email [email protected] for more info and an appointment. Adopters must have an approved application before scheduling an appointment.
