We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters unless the adopter has an approved application and has already met the cat or kitten.
Four month old Toomey has had a lot of adventure in his short life already. He was found hitchhiking inside the spare tire on the back of a truck in West Hartford about a month ago. Thankfully some good samaritans noticed and stepped in to put an end to Toomey’s accidental Uber experience and he was placed into a foster home shortly after. With this situation behind him Toomey now prioritizes feeling safe and secure in his environment. This means he might be a little jumpy if a loud noise scares him or somebody reaches for him too quickly. In fact Toomey spent the first couple weeks in his foster home camped out in his foster mom’s office and wanting to remain in this safe space before exploring the rest of the house. However Toomey does not let this stop him from being a loving and playful (and sometimes mischievous) kitten. He loves to headbutt his foster mom and purr while making biscuits and being cradled like a baby. Toomey also loves chatting and playing and will chirp and sing to make sure people are aware when his playtime is underserved. He also enjoys jumping out from around corners to surprise the other foster cats in the home like the goofy little sibling he is. Toomey would do well with another playful cat (after a slow and reassuring introduction) and in an environment that is calm and quiet. He will make it worth your while when he snuggles in your arms looking up at you like you’re his entire world which is his daily ritual.
