We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters.
If we had to guess, we’d say that Ari’s heritage includes a whole lot of Maine coon cat. If you’re familiar with Maine coons, you know that they’re big and beautiful, with long, thick coats. Ari definitely looks like a Maine coon, from the tip of his gorgeous round head down to his furry toes and right on through to his fabulously bushy tail. He’s the kind of cat you’ll want to photograph until your phone is full—that is, if you can get him to back up far enough for you to get a photo.
You see, Ari is also a major-league cuddler. Some cats are aloof and standoffish, but not lovable Ari. This big boy loves to push his wonderfully leonine head into your hands so you can stroke his face while he licks your hands. Whether it’s the season for air conditioning or for curling up in front of the fire, it makes no difference to Ari. He just wants to snuggle with someone who will pet him and fuss over him and let him know how much they adore him.
Which is not to say that two-year-old Ari isn’t interested in other activities. If you have a laser light, he’s happy to go after it. He’s also been known to enjoy a bit of fun with a wand toy. Plus, Ari enjoys exploring new spaces (a trait inherited from his ancestors on Viking ships, perhaps?). But what this affectionate boy really wants is to be the center of someone’s world so he can spend his days being fussed over and cherished. We think Ari will be most content if he can be the only pet in the home—just as we suspect that the right person will thrilled to lavish all their love and attention on this special boy.
