We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats.  You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters.    Arwen is FIV+.

Two-year-old Arwen shares her name with an elven character from J. R. R. Tolkein's Lord of the Rings series. This connection is possibly due to her engaging impish ways. Arwen is a 'best of both worlds' cat. She is a lap lover who enjoys a warm snuggle on a toasty person to relax and have a snooze. And she is an energetic nosey-Rosy who likes to be involved in everything. Arwen runs her own surveillance program and keeps up-to-date on the goings on around her. She's thorough and misses nothing.

Because Arwen is versatile - offering both a traditional lazy cat side and a silly mischievous cat side -  she's an ideal candidate for a broad range of adopters. Arwen has a little something for everyone. She's even shown that she can coexist with other respectful felines if offered the proper introduction. If you are an adopter looking for a little elvish magic, Arwen can deliver.
From Arwen's Foster Mom:
2 year old Arwen is as magical as her name suggests. One look at her silky fur and mesmerizing green eyes confirms it! Arwen is a confident elf, ermm, cat, who loves to chat with her foster mom, especially when asking for pets, brushing or lap time (all of which she loves). Arwen loves being around people, including gentle children. She loves her toys. She would do well in an active home where some of the occupants work from home (at least some of the time) and can give her the company she craves. As much as Arwen LOVES people, she dislikes other kitties, so she will need to be your one and only. But with the amount of affection she provides, you won't need anything else!

FIV+ - Despite what many people think, cats with this condition can live perfectly long, happy, healthy lives. The Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is a slow virus that affects a cat’s immune system over a period of years. FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be spread to humans or other non-felines. FIV cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all. FIV is not easily passed between cats. It cannot be spread casually - like in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing. It is rarely spread from a mother to her kittens. FIV+  cats should be kept as healthy as possible. Keep them indoors and free from stress, feed them a high-quality diet, keep and treat any secondary problems as soon as they arise.

Adoptions are now done by appointment only. Email [email protected] for more info and an appointment. Adopters must have an approved application before scheduling an appointment.
