We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats.  You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters.   Cassie will be available for adoption on Saturday 4/5.

Cassiopeia, nicknamed Cassie, was named after a constellation as were her eight brothers and sisters.  With nine kittens, her litter tied the shelter record.  Being named after a beautiful queen seemed fitting for Cassie as she has such lovely markings and the softest fur.   She was the first of the group to really enjoy socializing with humans.  Because of the size of the litter, the kittens were given supplemental bottle feedings to make sure they were able to gain enough weight.  Cassie soon learned that a human entering the room might mean warm kitten formula in her belly. So with eyes barely open and legs barely working, she would teeter and totter her way towards her human and the bottle. Though she has an elegant appearance, she is far from dainty and very curious and rambunctiousness.  She especially loves to wrestle and run around with her sister Hydra who she hopes to be adopted with.  When there’s a lot of toys and playing happening in the room, Cassie will jump from spot to spot to make sure she is enjoying the most exciting moment (her two speeds are crazy-cakes and asleep).  Like her sister Hydra she loves playing with crumpled up pieces of paper, pencils, and anything she can push around a hardwood floor. She loves cardboard scratching boards and uses them often like a good girl. Her level of energy is contagious, and when she starts running around, her siblings are sure to follow. Hydra is more quiet, but when around Cassie, she becomes much more animated. While Cassie doesn’t mind a lot of noise, Hydra prefers a more quiet environment so a calmer home is best for both of them. Cassie is ready to find her forever home and bring her cuteness and energy with her.
