Cleopatra – FeLV+

Name:  Cleopatra

Age:  2 years

Breed: DSH

Sex: Female

Cleopatra has tested positive for Feline Leukemia.  Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus belonging to the coronavirus subfamily, which means it is a cancer-causing virus. FeLV can cause severe anemia and suppress the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to a variety of opportunistic diseases. FeLV is not transmissible to humans or dogs.

FeLV cats generally have a shortened lifespan.  A realistic expectation is 1-3 years.  Cats with FeLV require routine vet care, a good diet, low stress, and lots of love.  Please keep them indoors to protect them from picking up any infection from outdoors.  Cats with FeLV are usually pretty healthy, until they aren’t.

Meet Cleo, the sweetest and most cuddly cat you’ll ever find! Cleo is a loving lap cat who’s always by your side, whether you’re working, eating, or just relaxing. She’s a professional snuggler and loves to be close to her humans. Her soft, glossy black fur and stunning eyes will have you swooning, but it’s her loving personality that will truly steal your heart.

Cleo is a playful little lady who enjoys a good game of feather wand, and she’s a pro at food puzzles, keeping her curious mind engaged. When it’s time for a nap, you’ll find her either curled up near her foster brother, Lo Mein, or basking in a sunny spot, soaking up the warmth. The two of them are are very close, and Cleo loves hanging out with him when a human lap isn’t available. She would love to be homed with a friend that is also FeLV+ or can be a solo pet.

One of Cleo’s cutest quirks is the chirp she makes every time she jumps off a surface—it’s like a little hello or a thank-you for letting her explore! If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and affectionate companion, Cleo might just be the perfect fit for your home.
