We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters.
Five-year-olds Daisy and Duke just go together (get it? Daisy Dukes…the 1980’s era micro denim shorts from the show The Dukes of Hazzard…ok, never mind). These two are a very bonded pair who rely on one another for amusement, companionship and reassurance.
Daisy is the more confident of the siblings. Once acclimated, she’s known to be chatty – contributing little chirrupy meows to the conversation. She also loves to play and elicits smiles with her goofiness. And a good tail scratch will send her hindquarters skyward like an elevator.
While Daisy gets comfortable and shows off her fun personality fairly quickly, Duke takes his time. He prefers to wait on the sidelines, generally hiding out away from view until he gains confidence. His favorite method for acclimation could be termed “The Oyster”, whereby he finds two cat beds that make a top and bottom shell and he climbs inside like a pearl waiting to be discovered. From the safety of his hideout, he performs reconnaissance, watching Daisy until he gains the confidence to emerge.
Treats, toys and gentle pets definitely help expedite his process. And very soon both are looking for love, attention, and playtime. Daisy and Duke are seeking a low-key forever home that not only honors their more reserved preferences but also that appreciates how much they love and need one another.
To find out more or to make an appointment to meet the available cats, please fill out the application on our website. Our placement team will be in touch by email to answer your questions, walk you through our process, and make you an appointment to come in and meet the cats. As always, if you are not in a place to adapt right now, you can still help Daisy and Duke by spreading the word about them.
Adoptions are now done by appointment only. Email poaplacement@gmail.com for more info and an appointment. Adopters must have an approved application before scheduling an appointment.
