We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats.  You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters.
Are you looking for a coworker that never asks an unnecessary question that prolongs a meeting? Someone who would never even consider using the microwave to cook fish at lunchtime? Maybe someone who always thinks your ideas are great, and would never take credit for work you’ve done? If you work from home and are looking for a coworker like this, we have the perfect applicant! Three year-old Laurel would love to keep you company while you work-and only asks for pets and a few treats.
Laurel is not a fan of other cats, but she very much loves her people. This may be because she was abandoned outside and spent quite some time surviving on her own. While she was outside Laurel was thought to be unfriendly, but when she was trapped (because she was pregnant) she revealed herself to be a friendly cat who was just in survival mode outside. After about 24 hours of hissing,
Laurel started rubbing against her foster mom and asking for attention. We think that during her time outside she really missed people and she has been trying to make up for last time ever since.
After her kittens were weaned, Laurel was moved into her foster mom’s from home office and appointed herself office manager and employee of the month. Laurel would curl up on the desk and offer quiet support, asking only for an occasional kiss on the top of her head. For Laurel, any time spent with her person is the best part of her day.
Now at the Shelter for adoption, Laurel soaks up attention from the volunteers. Unfortunately, she is not fond of the other cats so she knows this isn’t the perfect place for her. If she could, we know that Laurel would be posting her résumé on indeed and looking for her next position.
She would point out that she is looking for a permanent position, and that she is loyal, hard-working, and a team player (at least when it comes to people). She does not understand Excel and her word processing skills are admittedly negligible. But she’s always ready for a Zoom meeting, and will show up every morning with a positive attitude. Most importantly, Laurel will do her best to reduce your stress and will always be your biggest cheerleader. And at the end of the workday, Laurel will happily follow you into the kitchen for dinner or snuggle up against you on the couch.
If Laurel sounds like the coworker you’ve been looking for, please fill out the application on our website. Our placement team will be in touch by email to answer your questions, tell you about the adoption process, and make you an appointment to meet the available cats. If Laurel would not be a good fit for your home, you can still help by spreading the word about her.

Adoptions are now done by appointment only. Email [email protected] for more info and an appointment. Adopters must have an approved application before scheduling an appointment.
