Lo Mein – FeLV+

Name:  Lo Mein

Age:  6 years

Breed: DSH

Sex: Male

Lo Mein has tested positive for Feline Leukemia.  Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus belonging to the coronavirus subfamily, which means it is a cancer-causing virus. FeLV can cause severe anemia and suppress the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to a variety of opportunistic diseases. FeLV is not transmissible to humans or dogs.

FeLV cats generally have a shortened lifespan.  A realistic expectation is 1-3 years.  Cats with FeLV require routine vet care, a good diet, low stress, and lots of love.  Please keep them indoors to protect them from picking up any infection from outdoors.  Cats with FeLV are usually pretty healthy, until they aren’t.

Meet Lo Mein! This adorable ball of fluff is as sweet as can be and is ready to bring joy to your home. Lo Mein is a snuggler at heart, always ready to curl up and get cozy with his humans. But don’t let him fool you—he’s also full of energy and loves a good play session! Whether it’s throwing around toys or following a laser, Lo Mein has a playful side that’ll keep you entertained and always laughing.

Eating is his absolute favorite pastime, and he’s always up for snack time! He also has a lot to say—expect plenty of chirps and chit-chat from this social guy, who enjoys communicating with his people. If Lo Mein could talk, he’s probably asking if it’s dinner time yet.

Lo Mein has a foster sister named Cleo, and these two are the best of friends. He’s great with other cats and would love to have a companion in his forever home. Lo Mein does have FeLV he would need to be in a home with another FeLV+ cat. He also would do just fine as an only cat.

If you’re looking for a friendly, playful, and loving companion, Lo Mein just might be the purrfect match for you!
