Name: Miles
Age: 1 year
Breed: DSH
Sex: Male
If there’s one word to sum up Miles, it’s joyful. This lively, social boy adapts to new spaces with ease and makes himself at home faster than you can say “treat.” He’s equal parts silly and sweet — the kind of cat who will chase a feather wand like an acrobat one moment, then curl up contentedly nearby just to be close to you.
Miles thrives on interaction and would love a home where he’s encouraged to play, explore, and be his cheerful self. Stock up on wand toys (feathers preferred — he insists) and he’ll happily demonstrate his impressive agility. In return, you’ll be rewarded with impeccable litter box manners, a hearty appetite, and enthusiastic gratitude in the form of chirps, head bumps, and hopeful stares whenever treats are involved.
Miles does happen to be FeLV-positive (feline leukemia), but don’t tell him that — he’s currently symptom-free and far too busy enjoying life to be concerned. He’s thriving in his foster home and soaking up every moment of love and adventure. Our adoption team is experienced with FeLV cats and will be happy to walk you through what his future care looks like. How long will Miles live? We simply cannot tell the future. What we can promise is this: cats like Miles live in the moment, and every moment with him is a happy one.
Miles isn’t defined by his diagnosis — he’s defined by his spirit. And his spirit says: “I’m ready to bring joy to someone’s life. Maybe it’s yours?”
Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus belonging to the coronavirus subfamily, which means it is a cancer-causing virus. FeLV can cause severe anemia and suppress the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to a variety of opportunistic diseases. FeLV is not transmissible to humans.
FeLV cats generally have a shortened lifespan. Cats with FeLV require routine vet care, a good diet, low stress, and lots of love. Please keep them indoors to protect them from picking up any infection from outdoors. Cats with FeLV are usually pretty healthy, until they aren’t. If you are interested in providing a loving home to one of our FeLV+ cats, please submit an application. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Adoptions are now done by appointment only. Email [email protected] for more info and an appointment. Adopters must have an approved application before scheduling an appointment.
