Mimosa - Protectors of Animals

We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters.

Sunny and effervescent, 18-month-old Mimosa was aptly named. Mimosa is silly, playful, outgoing, and VERY chatty. If you tried to imagine a summer brunch with friends in cat-form, you would probably come up with a cat very much like Mimosa.

But her life hasn’t been all bubbles and orange juice. One of nine cats in her previous home, Mimosa quickly became pregnant. As much as they loved her, the family knew that they were in over their heads and reached out for help. While they were heartbroken, they knew the best thing for Mimosa would be to surrender her so that she could have a better life. Mimosa arrived at Protectors of Animals very pregnant. She was whisked off to one of our foster homes where she soon had five beautiful babies!

Even though she was no more than a baby herself, Mimosa was a good mom to her kittens. But we aren’t going to lie, she was pretty happy when they were weaned, and she was off to another foster home for a few weeks of rest and relaxation. (Really, who wants to be stepped on by kittens 24/7?) Now spayed and fully vetted, beautiful Mimosa is ready to be your spoiled darling!

And Mimosa would absolutely love to be spoiled. She soaks up attention like a sponge, calling us over to ask for pets and bouncing around her condo in excitement when she sees a toy. She is a darling!

We are still figuring out how Mimosa is with other cats. We know that she has lived with them in the past, but we also know that since she’s been at the shelter, she’s been pretty hissy. It may be that she is reacting to a new environment. However, it is equally possible that having had time to herself, Mimosa has decided that she likes it having ALL of the attention. We should know more about her feelings about other cats by this weekend.

We are already certain that she would be fine as a one and only with lots of playtime and attention. We are also certain that Mimosa would love to be your best girlfriend and brunch buddy. She will join in the gossip, keep your secrets, and hype you up. She is also a happy girl who will greet you at the door with a story about her day. Mimosa is guaranteed to think that whatever you do is simply fabulous. We bet that when you meet her you will think she is pretty fabulous too!
