One-year-old Mr. Genius might seem ironically named, as he can sometimes be found hiding beneath his bed. Not the move of the smartest in the room. But rather than lack of intelligence, Mr. Genius' hiding is the product of his timidity.
Like the Cowardly Lion in The WIzard of Oz, his courage needs time and encouragement to develop. But it is there, waiting to be set free. When the time is afforded, Mr. Genius is able to shed what holds him back and embrace the love he craves. He likes the company of gentle people and other friendly cats and in the presence of both, his path to confidence and bravery will be accelerated. He would appreciate an adopter who understands that the shy fellow they meet on adoption day is a different cat than the one who will emerge when comfort and patience are given in liberal amounts.
