Name: PeeWee
Age: 4 years
Breed: DSH
Sex: Male
We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters.
To talk about Peewee, we must first acknowledge a reality - timid cats often do not show well at the shelter. The busyness. The new faces. The volume and variety of noises. All these factors contribute to gentle, nervous cats like 4-year-old Peewee retreating toward the rear of the condo, hoping to disappear.
And because first impressions matter, potential adopters see only a cat that is scared, hesitant and wary. But Peewee, like so many of our timid cats, has a wonderful, affectionate side that comes out when the environment calms down. With one-to-one attention, Peewee craves petting and physical reassurances. He relaxes, letting his dancing paws show his appreciation as he makes biscuits.
In addition to being downright handsome, Peewee will be a dedicated and loving companion in a space where he feels safe, with people who are gentle and trustworthy. Due to his timidity, we suspect that Peewee is going to thrive best in a quieter home, with someone who has experience with cats that need encouragement to let their guard down. He may take his time coming out of his shell, but once Peewee trusts, we see all the signs that he is going to be a faithful sidekick and a fantastic furry friend.
