Starlight - One & Only - Protectors of Animals

We are scheduling appointments for adopters to come in and meet our available cats. You do not need to choose a specific cat and we are not placing cats on hold for specific adopters. Starlight needs to be the only cat in the home. If you would like to meet Starlight, she is meeting adopters in her foster home. Starlight does not enjoy life in the shelter.

Starlight is definitely a star, emerging from the darkness. Take a little time to get to know her, and she’ll invite you into her beautiful new world.
In her past life, Starlight wasn’t treated well. She learned not to trust humans. Humans scolded her for getting on beds, sofas or chairs. Humans didn’t pet her or play with her. We suspect that humans hit her. We’re extremely grateful that Starlight never again has to live in that situation.

After a few months of patient foster care, Starlight is discovering a beautiful new world of love, safety and trust. As her fear evaporates, she is truly blossoming. Starlight is an elegant, independent, athletic cat who is just now learning the joys of affection and playtime. This gorgeous, three-year-old house-panther loves to race as far as she can, as fast as she can – just because she can! Her favorite toys are heartbreakingly simple… she loves to chase a string. Just a string. Sometimes she’ll stop suddenly and look at you, as if to say, “Is this okay? Are you going to yell at me? Are you going to hit me?” It’s glorious to watch as she joyfully realizes that no one is ever going to hit her again.

It’s easy. All you have to do is let her know she’s safe, and your kindness will be repaid a thousand times over.
