Gertie

Next is Gertie's turn!

This is Gertie! She is a 13 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (with perhaps some Italian Greyhound in there for good measure!) and weighs 10lbs. She was found on the porch of an abandoned home where she had spent that night (and who knows how many others) in freezing temperatures. Gertie is an absolute sweetheart and just wants to be held and cuddled on a lap, where she gently rests her head on volunteers' chests, softly sighing to communicate her happiness. She enjoys short walks, but most of all she just wants to be your little shadow. Gertie enjoys meeting male dogs while out in public, however, she would like to be the only dog in the home so she can be the queen of the castle, which she deserves to be!
