Last spring, POA received a pittie mix named Bubba at the shelter. At only one years old, he was found dumped at the Wethersfield Cove on New Year’s Day 2023 with a bag of food, a head injury and a long-fractured hip. In March, he got surgery to repair his hip for about $10,000.
One of our volunteers fostered Bubba after his surgery and helped him go to physical therapy every week for about two months. Once he was healed, the volunteer decided to adopt Bubba, giving him a second chance!
Bubba has a sweet and loving personality that immediately drew volunteers in. He loves swimming, hiking, going to training classes and curling up on the couch. Long gone are the days he spent cold and broken at the Cove.
