Introducing River!
Meet River! He is an 18 month old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog/Hound mix. River currently weighs 55lbs and is a bit lean - 60lbs will be an ideal weight for him. He is a very sweet, affectionate, GORGEOUS hunk of a guy - be prepared to turn heads and get compliments when walking this guy down the street! River adores people and craves attention and lovin'. He is a medium to high energy guy and will need a family who will be active with him on a daily basis (River will need more than just a daily walk as an outlet for his youthful energy). He is super intelligent, is learning his basic commands, and walks nicely on a leash (he is also a fantastic jogging partner per some of our volunteers!). He is a very goofy Hound guy and would love to continue his obedience training in his new home (he is a very quick learner and is super food motivated!). River LOVES to play with other dogs! He would love medium or large dog siblings as playmates. River would do well in a home with children 8 years of age and older.
